Happy Holidays to all of our subscribers and businesses! I am a week ahead of myself this year...I think because Hanukkah was early this year, I am pushing Christmas up a week too! The holidays always creep up on me, no matter how many years I've been a mommy! All of the holiday school programs and parties, getting out our family cards, shopping, shipping, baking and trying to maintain some normalcy in our lives is a true balancing act! Click here for some tips for you and your family this holiday season. This year my youngest child has religious education everyday, and this is helping our family sit back and take a moment to remember what Christmas and the holidays are truly about. This is a time of year that many families celebrate traditions. One of our traditions is to take a drive around the neighborhood and OOO and AHHH over all the Christmas lights, then go for hot chocolate. My kids also like to have an individual date with Mommy or Daddy to choose gifts for one another, as well as to choose a gift for our Angel at church. Click here to share some of your favorite family traditions with us! I am grateful to be able to share the spirit of the holidays with my family and friends.
Have a safe and Happy Holiday Season!

| H1N1 Holiday Update |
H1N1 Update, December 2009 from Clark County Health District:
What surfaces are most likely to be sources of contamination?
- Droplets from a cough or sneeze of an infected person move through the air and land on surfaces contaminating them.
- Germs can spread when a person touches a surface like a desk, computer keyboard, or a doorknob, for example, and then touches their own eyes, mouth or nose before washing their hands.
What household cleaning should be done to prevent the spread of flu?
- To prevent the spread of flu it is important to keep surfaces clean.
- Cleaning can be done by wiping surfaces down with a household disinfectant according to directions on the product label.
Are there medicines to treat H1N1?
- There are drugs your doctor may prescribe for treating both seasonal and H1N1 influenza. These drugs can make you better faster and may also prevent serious complications. This flu season, antiviral drugs are being used mainly to treat people who are very sick, such as people who need hospitalization, and to treat people who are more likely to get serious flu complications. Your health care provider will decide whether antiviral drugs are needed to treat your illness. Remember, most people who have been infected with H1N1 have had mild illness and have not needed medical care or antiviral drugs.
Click here for more information about flu vaccines and clinics. Many Valley area drugstores, clinics and doctors offices have received the H1N1 vaccine. Call your doctor toay!
